"ViewportHostPanel " is missing

Dec 2, 2010 at 7:15 AM

Hi there

I'm a beginner of D3,and tring to build the Intensity Chart sample.

Just like BBauer42 pointed out, I got an error as followed.

'ViewportHostPanel' does not exist in XML namespace 'http://research.microsoft.com/DynamicDataDisplay/1.0'. Line 18 Position 5.

I checked the Microsoft.Research.DynamicDataDisplay.Charts namespace and could not find the ViewportHostPanel class declaration in there.

So,Could anyone tell me what should i do to be able to build Intensity Chart with no error.

I am using VS2010,and got the sample from DynamicDataDisplay Sources v0.3.4703.0\src\DevSamples\IntensityChart.

I think the reference setting to DynamicDataDisplay is good.

  Thanks!

Hi,

This is a core sample - only two projects. It should build without any problems.

 Thank you,Mikhail,your prompt reply!

I downloaded the new one that should be build without any problems, you supplied.

But,I got same result. So,I think I have something wrong environment setting of VS2010 or wrong dll of the DynamicDataDisplay.

I think the error would occur because that ViewportHostPanel class declaration is not exist in the Microsoft.Research.DynamicDataDisplay.Charts namespace.

It means that I have wrong DynamicDataDisplay.dll? Can you see it in your dll?

I have opened D3's assembly with Reflector, and found ViewportHostPanel
there.
I don't have more ideas as I don't have all necessary information.
Call me at skype - mikhail.brinchuk.

Hi,Mikhail

 I don't have skype account,but I appreciate your help.

I checked DynamicDataDisplay.dll and found no ViewportHostPanel there.

I will search the latest one.

Do you know when ViewportHostPanel was bind to D3's assembly? recent? or couple years ago?
