Breaking samples in nightly build (v0.3.4703.0)

Jan 8, 2010 at 6:58 PM

I'm just starting to dig into D3 and have run into the following build issues:

(1) AxisControl sample

in Window4.xaml

<d3:VerticalDateTimeAxis Name="dateAxis"/>

causes negative height problem, changing it to

 <d3:VerticalTimeSpanAxis Name="dateAxis" Placement="Right"/>

resolved the issue

in Window4.cs

            dateAxis.AxisControl.MajorLabelProvider.SetCustomFormatter(i =>
                // MP! was:
    return i.Tick.ToString("MMMM yyyy", new CultureInfo("es-es"));

    return null;

This code does not compile, so I commented it out.  Not sure what the issue is.

(2) The XBAP project faults when you select any of samples

(3) The MapSample will occassionally go into a throttling loop once you are zoomed into street level, issue seems to be with feedback on axis updates

(4) ValueSelectionSample has a problem when sizing window smaller, controls begin to grow

(5) MultiplePointsSample breaks in OnPlotterAttached

(6) Zooming in/out is inconsistent at a given cursor position, that is, the graph shifts to center around the cursor position (not sure this is really a problem)

(7) TrafficLightsSample breaks in OnPlotterAttached

(8) BarChartSample breaks in OnPlotterAttached

(9) WeatherSample breaks in OnPlotterAttached

(10) In ChartBringToFrontSample the Swap button doesn't seem to do anything

(11) ForestDisplaySample jumps unexpectadly when zooming in/out and changing window size

(12) RectSelectorSample is confusing in the way it handles scrolling and mouse down events

(13) TiledRenderingSample breaks in window1.xaml markup

That's as far as I've gotting so far.

I tried to have a look at the bar chart and have the same problem. Does anyone know how this needs to be fixed?

My name is Mikhail Brinchuk, and I am a developer of DynamicDataDisplay.

I'm searching now a remote job, so if you or your company can offer it to me, I will be very grateful.

If you want to customize DynamicDataDisplay somehow, I can help you to do it.

My CV is here -

Best regards,

Do you have a fix for the bar chart?

Hi noemata,

you have mentioned some errors mainly in DevSamples folder. These are samples which I use to test some new functionality being developed. And they are published 'as is', as there are a lot of them which a old and non-relevant.

But samples in 'Samples' folder are supposed to be working, so I'll fix errors in them.

Hi Kam,

I will fix all errors and bugs in Samples in short time, lets say, in a week.
